I just gave up one day and traded it all in at a significant loss to Vintage King for some high end channel strips. To me, the API stuff was more like a science experiment than useful tooling to get my work done.
Also, the density usually means very small lettering which can be difficult to see in dimly lit rooms. Third, I found the density of API was really hard to work with and dealing with signal flow on units with poor metering could be frustrating. Eventually I bought 3 bays to normalize my most common chains as much as possible but event then, lots of patching involved. I've not heard of many others who had an issue like this, so keep that in mind. And when your power supply is down, you have a lot of expensive gear gathering dust. I had a rare case where a bad module kept blowing out my supplies.
